1. Who we are

Pulse (the "App") is an iOS application published by Jonas Bauer, an individual developer ("we", "us", "our"). Jonas Bauer is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at contact@pulseanalyzer.work.

This policy covers the App and the website at pulseanalyzer.work (the "Website"). Pulse is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc.

2. Information we process

CategoryWhat it includesWhere it comes from
Instagram username The username of the public account you connect, and the usernames of public accounts you look up. You enter it in the App.
Public profile data Publicly available information about the connected or looked-up account: display name, profile picture, account type, follower, following and post counts; the public lists of followers and following (username, name, profile picture, verified and private flags); and public post statistics such as post type, like and comment counts. Collected by our servers from publicly available Instagram information.
Derived analytics Results we compute from snapshots of the data above: new and lost followers, not following back, mutual, verified, active and ghost followers, growth history and content statistics. Generated by our servers.
Subscriber identifier and purchase history A random identifier assigned to your app installation, your subscription status, product, purchase and renewal dates, trial state, and storefront country. We never receive your full payment card details — payments are handled by Apple. Apple and our subscription provider, Apphud.
Product interaction Events about how the App is used, such as screens opened, features tapped and paywalls viewed, together with general device information (model, iOS version, language, country-level region, app version). The App, through Google Firebase Analytics.
Crash and diagnostic data Crash reports and error codes. Request addresses that could contain usernames are removed before a report is sent. The App, through Google Firebase Crashlytics.
Technical data IP address and standard request metadata that every internet connection to our servers and providers involves. Your device.
Support correspondence Your email address and anything you choose to include when you write to us. You.

The App also stores preferences and a copy of your most recent results on your device so that it opens quickly and works offline. This data stays on your device and is removed when you delete the App.

3. What we do not collect

4. How we use information

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects through automated processing alone.

5. Legal bases

Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on:

6. Service providers and sharing

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share information only with providers that process it on our behalf:

ProviderPurposeData involved
AppleApp distribution, payments and subscription management.Purchase information.
ApphudSubscription infrastructure and purchase validation.Subscriber identifier, purchase history, device and app information.
Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config)Usage analytics, crash reporting and remote configuration.Product interaction, crash and diagnostic data, app installation identifiers, device information.
Hosting and infrastructure providersRunning our servers, this Website and our email.Data stored on or passing through our systems.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or transfer of the App — in which case this policy continues to apply to the transferred data.

7. People who appear in analytics

To show a user who follows them, Pulse processes public information about other Instagram accounts — for example, the username, name and profile picture of a follower. We process only information that those accounts have made publicly available, only to provide analytics requested by a user, and we do not combine it into profiles for advertising or sell it.

If you believe Pulse processes information about your Instagram account and you want it removed or want to object, email contact@pulseanalyzer.work with your username. Making your Instagram account private also prevents further collection.

8. Retention

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent. Residents of California and other US states with similar laws have the right to know, delete and correct personal information and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

To exercise any right, email contact@pulseanalyzer.work. Tell us the username you connected so that we can find your data; we may ask for information needed to confirm the request. We respond within the time required by applicable law, normally within 30 days.

You can also:

If you are in the EU, EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. International transfers

Our providers may process information in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States. Where required, such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

11. Security

All communication between the App and our servers is encrypted in transit, and the App verifies our servers' identity before sending any data. We limit access to personal data to what is necessary to run the service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Children

Pulse is not directed to children. You must be at least 13 years old — or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher — to use the App. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below that age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

13. This website

The Website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the Website and protect it from abuse.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the effective date above. If the changes are material, we will provide a more prominent notice.
